LVL Mill Biomass Combustion
AECOM and Mainzeal provided CHH with the Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) production facility, which included an 18MW waste wood steam boiler for steam production for 4 major operating plants.
Description of facility:
The heat plant operated on dry wood waste (saw dust and hogged LVL), wood bark (ex log debarking plant) and green waste (ex log peeling line – cores and green veneer). The plant consisted of a dry waste silo and a ‘live’ wood waste floor that pushed the collected material, blended the two waste streams together for then burning in the boiler.
AECOM were responsible for Client liaison, performance tender specification, site layout drawings, bid evaluation, negotiation and recommendation, contract preparation and award, document reviews and site observation. AECOM designed the heat plant foundation, civil geotechnical ground works and electrical distribution.
