Gisborne Olympic Pool

The Gisborne Olympic pool owned and operated by the Gisborne district council is heated by a wood fired boiler with a gas backup.
Description of facility: 

The 400kW KOB pyrot boiler replaced a 900kW gas boiler . The boiler is fuelled by wood chips supplied from local forestry sources under contract. The facility has a 40m3 fuel store and operates at 92% efficiency compared to the 72% efficiency of the gas boiler it replaced.
