CHH Kinleith Cogeneration Plant

A 39MWe cogeneration plant which is wood fuelled produces heat and electrity for the pulp mill.
Description of facility:

The Rolls Royce Industrial Power Ltd designed plant utilises wood waste as its boiler fuel.

JP Marshall Engineering’s role in the project was the supply and installation of the wood waste storage facilities and the mechanical handling equipment which transported the wood waste to and from the boiler. The ash handling equipment included a scraper conveyor and a series of screw conveyors.

The major components of the project included an infeed area with a live floor, which accepted the wood waste from the delivery trucks.
The wood waste was then transported on a belt conveyor to a storage bunker (also with a live floor) which in turn fed the boiler.

JP Marshall Engineering, fabricating the infeed area, storage bunker, mechanical handling equipment, walkways and handrails in our Fabrication Shop and then transported them to Kinleith where they were assembled on site and installed.
