Balefill Landfill Gas Extraction System
Following the feasibility study in 1993, the Waitakere City Council commissioned AECOM to provide professional services for the design and construction of a balefill site gas extraction system.
Description of facility:
The work included options analysis, gas generation projections and detailed design of gas well field (40 wells), above ground collector network (100mm diameter laterals and 150mm to 200mm diameter ring mains), condensate removal devices, pipeline network grades adjustment system to maximise collection efficiency, control and monitoring systems, and the extraction system consisting of blowers and flares. The services included preparation of tender documents, tender analysis, assistance during contract award, and technical advice during construction.
